External Training
National standards for volunteers wishing to work with children and young people are rigorous. The training to equip volunteers to work in this sphere is accredited by Head Office.
Who can be trained?
The training is open principally to individuals who already have experience of working in a professional capacity with children and young people. There is also a probationary period following the completion of training, and regular on-going supervision by staff experienced in this area of work.
What does the training include?
Relevant theories of child development
Psycho-dynamics of family interaction
Working with individuals and groups
Practical methods for use with the whole age spectrum (0-18)
Issues of Child Protection.
Seminars
Cruse invites leading professionals in their field, to present seminars for a wider
audience and make their knowledge available to a wider audience. On Saturday October
11th 2003, Colin Murray-Parkes was well received at such an event. Please
contact the
Cruse office if you are interested in joining the mailing list for future seminars.
Cruse Branch provides qualitative training in many areas, from staff development, loss and bereavement, stress management, management committees and supervisor training, working with children and a whole variety of other areas.
Outside Agencies
We enjoy working with organisations from the not for profit sector, local authorities, industry and charities. Funding from contracted out training helps support and sustain the work of Cruse.
If you would like to purchase our services and discuss your training needs further, please contact Ria Purfield-Clark, the Cruse Training Co-ordinator.
